The Professional Firefighters Association of Clackamas County is an International Association of Fire Fighters AFL-CIO affiliate Local. Local 1159 represents over 335 firefighters and paramedics from Canby Fire District #62, Clackamas Fire District #1, Estacada Fire District #69, Gladstone Fire Department, Lake Oswego Fire Department, Molalla Fire District #73 and Sandy Fire District #72. Our mission is to ensure that all members are treated fairly and equally focusing on wages, hours, working conditions, retirement securities and safety. It is our goal to improve the standard of living for our members, families and communities we serve.

Structure Fire – SE Riverside Way 6/20/2025
At approximately 10:30 PM on June 20, Estacada Fire was dispatched by Clackamas 911 - CCOM to a reported miscellaneous fire, initially described as a possible fence and pile of tires burning. A Battalion Chief and Engine 331 responded within one minute of dispatch.
While en route, the Battalion Chief observed flames reaching approximately 50 feet into nearby trees and a strong glow at ground level. Based on these observations, the alarm was upgraded to a task force response. After locating the access driveway, units arrived on scene to find a fully involved 65’ x 40’, five-bay, metal-framed premanufactured shop, the alarm was then quickly upgraded to a working structure fire.
Due to multiple exposures—including a nearby residence, several vehicles, and an RV and multiple explosions—Command upgraded the incident to a 2nd alarm.
Fortunately, it was confirmed early on that no occupants or animals were at risk. Crews achieved knockdown and brought the fire under control approximately 50 minutes after arrival. Firefighters remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and conduct overhaul.
Estacada Fire responded with 14 personnel and 4 apparatus. Clackamas County Professional Firefighters Local 1159 supported the incident with multiple engines and a Battalion Chief. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Portland General Electric also assisted on scene.
The shop and its contents were declared a total loss. Two Estacada firefighters sustained minor injuries; no civilian injuries were reported. Both firefighters continued suppression efforts and are doing well.
We are grateful for the outstanding support from our mutual aid partners, which helped contain the fire and prevent its spread to the nearby residence.

This week, several @iaff1159 firefighters from @clackamasfire completed an intensive 50-hour Rope Rescue Technician course.
These trainings are physically and mentally demanding, but our members are committed to mastering the skills needed to handle the most complex rescue scenarios. Whether it’s high-angle, low angle, or high line rescues, we’re always ready — no matter the call.

Here is an update on our mobilization to the #RowenaFire in Wasco County. Our team will be briefed at 9:30 this evening. We are sending two additional task forces for a total of eight. Five will arrive tonight, and three will arrive in the morning. The task forces are from Clackamas, Lane, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington, and Yamhill counties.
