Nearly 80% of firefighter line of duty deaths are now linked to occupational cancer. This isn’t a coincidence, it’s the result of years of exposure to toxic smoke, chemicals, and contaminated gear. For the members of Professional Firefighters of Clackamas County Local 1159, Cancer Awareness Month is about honoring those we’ve lost and protecting those still on the job. Our fight isn’t just against fires, it’s against the invisible dangers that follow us home.
