The Professional Firefighters Association of Clackamas County is an International Association of Fire Fighters AFL-CIO affiliate Local. Local 1159 represents over 335 firefighters and paramedics from Canby Fire District #62, Clackamas Fire District #1, Estacada Fire District #69, Gladstone Fire Department, Lake Oswego Fire Department, Molalla Fire District #73 and Sandy Fire District #72. Our mission is to ensure that all members are treated fairly and equally focusing on wages, hours, working conditions, retirement securities and safety. It is our goal to improve the standard of living for our members, families and communities we serve.
On the evening of the Fourth of July, Estacada Fire District volunteer firefighter Micah Koch was severely injured while working as a pyrotechnician during the Estacada Fourth of July fireworks display at Estacada High School. He is currently receiving specialized medical care as he begins what will be a long road to recovery.
This fundraiser has been created to support Micah and his family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, travel, lodging, rehabilitation, lost income, and other unforeseen expenses that often accompany a serious injury.

After 32 years of dedicated service, IAFF Local 1159 proudly congratulates Lt. Mike Penunuri on his well earned retirement. Throughout his career serving the Molalla community and surrounding areas, Mike’s leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the fire service have left a lasting impact on his fellow firefighters and the people he served. After more than 40 years of serving our communities, Apparatus Operator Todd Gago has officially retired after working his final shift at Station 13 in Beavercreek.
If you’ve lived in Clackamas County for any length of time, there’s a good chance you’ve not only met Todd, but that Todd has made an impact on your life.
Throughout his career, he earned the respect of everyone around him through his work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to mentor those who served alongside him. The friendships he built and the example he set will continue long after his last shift.
Congratulations on an incredible career, Todd. Thank you for your decades of service, and from all of us at IAFF Local 1159, we wish you a long, healthy, and well deserved retirement.
